Good stuff. I love Christopher Alexander, but he is not always the best explainer of his own ideas. Now I can link people here, to help them get the gist of this important idea. Very useful! Thank you.

Order from chaos, reverse entropy, evolution, you have no idea how many chords this strikes in me. Humans are unique because we develop with a purpose; this is called teleology. In nature there are random mutations. Some succeed and others disappear. Purpose may be more efficient, but there are just as many failed experiments as in nature.

My cynical philosophy of life says that there are thinkers and doers. Thinkers have the best ideas; either they're not able to execute them, or when they do they are out-done by the doers. Everything we see around us came from the second-rate ideas of the doers.
