With world events this past week my state of mind has fluctuated wildly as I’m sure it has for many others. Greed and harboring the illusion that “ more brings happiness” have caused Us tremendous suffering.
The compassionate in us cannot easily carry on in times like this. The state of collective heart comes before the mind when humans witness suffering. Right action and what Thay (Thich Nhat Hanh) called “Engaged Buddhism” may bring peace to the heart by “Right Livelihood.”
