Six pictures from Joshua Tree and Palm Springs
This week I’m in Palm Springs for vacation so in lieu of writing, here are a few pictures from Joshua Tree National Park & environs - a few hours outside of Los Angeles.

It’s spring now so the eponymous Joshua Trees are blossoming! They say there is also a bird that uses the spikey leaves to impale their prey…
This is a picture of Joshua Tree’s boulders along Skull Rock hike. Look at the sky! March is a great time to visit as it was in the 70-80°s.
This is the Hall of Horrors in Joshua Tree. You can walk into the spaces between the boulders and see the climbers on nearby cliffs. There are 8,000+ climbing routes in the park.
This is from Indian Canyon near Palm Springs. It’s one of many desert oases where you can hike among the palm trees along the small creeks. It’s situated in the Agua Caliente Indian Reservation which is part of Palm Springs.
And finally, this is Palm Springs from a trail above the art museum. It’s just one of a string of small towns nestled next to the mountains, usually battered by the ceaseless desert sun.
