Grateful
A quick note on Thanksgiving week.
I'm David Gasca and this is Mystical Silicon, a weekly newsletter on mindfulness, how to make the world more alive, and a variety of other things I find interesting.
This week is Thanksgiving in the United States. It’s a time of gratitude spent with family and friends... I don’t have much time to write this week, so I’ll keep this post short.
There is so much I’m grateful right now that I could not begin to put it all in words… On a meta level, I’m most grateful that I’ve learned how to be grateful: for most of this year, I’ve been able to keep the flame of mindfulness stoked and it’s been a true blessing... From the moment I wake up I try to appreciate every breath and the energy makes my days more radiant. I’ve been able to passively meditate for large chunks of my day through active mindfulness trying to treat every moment as happiness. The result is my days feel longer, I’m nicer to my kids, family, strangers, and friends, and I find my life more full of joy.
I am so grateful as well to all of you for reading this newsletter. Having to return every week to write something that’s positive and centering, has been a true gift for me. These posts force me to “come back home.” There are weeks where I am frazzled and the act of having to write about what truly matters to me, clears away cloudy thoughts and lets me re-center. I only hope some of what I write can be helpful or inspiring as you go about your personal journeys.
I hope you all have a wonderful week.
May you find peace in every step

Expressing deep gratitude for having been invited to this magical play called “life” results, among other things, in a humbling realization that the whole life is nothing but grace. Each of us is much smaller than the whole. And yet, each of us is supported and graced by the whole. As you say, every breath is a manifestation of grace.
Speaking of grace and gratitude, thank you for your inspirational, educational and fun posts.
Beautiful, thank you!
